The China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) is co-hosted by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China. It is the largest comprehensive fair with a global reach in the field of trade in services and serves as an important window to China's opening-up. The CIFTIS has been included in the State Council's Report on the Work of the Government for five years in a row. Chinese President Xi Jinping has delivered important speeches via video link at the CIFTIS or sent congratulatory letters to the fair for six consecutive years, where he announced a series of opening-up measures and pointed out that the CIFTIS is a crucial platform for China to expand opening-up, deepen cooperation and pioneer innovation, and is also a vivid portrayal of the high-quality development of China's service industry and service trade, making positive contributions to the building of an open world economy. Having been successfully held for 11 sessions, the CIFTIS has attracted nearly 1,190,000 participants from 198 countries and regions for cooperation. The 2024 CIFTIS saw participation from 85 countries and international organizations, featuring onsite exhibitions hosted by over 2,000 enterprises. More than 300 Chinese and foreign guests engaged in discussions on hot topics in trade in services, while 111 companies and institutions released 219 achievements. The fair attracted nearly 260,000 attendees and yielded close to a thousand outcomes across investment and transaction, thus accomplishing its objectives of opportunity sharing, consultative cooperation, and joint development.
The 2025 CIFTIS will be held at the Shougang Park from Wednesday, September 10 to Sunday, September 14. While upholding its permanent theme of "Global Services, Shared Prosperity," this year's CIFTIS introduces the annual theme of "Embrace Intelligent Technologies, Empower Trade in Services." It will comprise the Global Trade in Services Summit, exhibitions and displays, forums and conferences, business matchmaking sessions, achievement releases, and supporting events. Starting this year, the fair will open at its permanent venue Shougang Park on the second Wednesday of September every year and run for five days. The unique industrial heritage scenarios of the park will be leveraged to reshape the venue into a distinctive convention and exhibition hub. The 2025 CIFTIS will feature thematic and special exhibitions. The thematic section will invite the Guest Country of Honor, Guest Province of Honor, international organizations, and major countries to hold exhibitions. With an emphasis on the integrated development trends of services trade, the special section will arrange nine exhibitions, covering Telecommunications, Computer & Information Services (ICT Services), Financial Services, Culture & Tourism Services, Education Services, Sports Services, Supply Chain and Business Services, Engineering Consulting & Construction Services, Health Services, and Environmental Services, highlighting the application of digital, AI, and other new technologies in services trade. Strengthening its role as a trade facilitator, the 2025 CIFTIS will continue to assemble trade delegations of central SOEs, state-owned financial enterprises, and provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities. It will invite a vast array of foreign countries and international organizations to host exhibitions and conferences. It will also redouble efforts to invite professional visitors to the site for procurement through multiple channels, organize overseas country/region-specific events, and deliver accurate services such as supply & demand matching, trade matchmaking, business talks and signing events, offering exhibitors and attendees an abundance of cooperation opportunities.
We sincerely invite governments from all countries/regions, international organizations, industry trade associations, and enterprises to participate in the 2025 CIFTIS, where they can showcase their strengths in services trade, unveil new technologies and achievements, and engage in promotional and negotiation activities, collectively boosting cooperation in global trade in services.
